Local charity Our Space is excited to celebrate its 10th anniversary this week.
Our Space provides play and social activities for disabled children and adults and their families, all based at specialist premises in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The charity was formed after the closure of a similar provision in 2015, which was a devastating loss to the local community. Ten years on, Our Space is thriving, offering sessions at least 6 days and 4 evenings a week and seeing a footfall of around 10,000 people throughout the year.
Our Space Head of Charity, Jane Smith said, “We are thrilled to have reached our 10th anniversary! This is a huge milestone, and we could not have achieved this without the support of our local community and of course our members.”
“People have supported us in so many ways over the years, whether that’s through volunteering their time, by making monetary donations or giving gifts in kind.”
The Our Space team is planning lots of things to celebrate their birthday throughout this year, the main event being a Charity Ball which will be held on Saturday 7th March at the Doubletree, Stoke. The Ball will be both a celebration and an opportunity to raise vital funds and we are delighted that several local businesses will be joining us. There are a limited number of tickets still available for this event. For more information CLICK HERE or email [email protected].
Faye Johnson, Our Space trustee, said: “Being involved with Our Space from the very beginning and seeing it grow into the charity it is now has been amazing.”
“Our members and their families absolutely love coming and it’s great to see the amount of joy that being here brings to everyone”.
“We have lots of exciting plans for our charity and we’re looking forward to the next ten years!”
