The Difference We Make

Our Value

Our charity provides a sense of community and belonging. The benefits gained from Our Space stretch beyond our grounds and our sessions. Some parents have told us that their own mental health has improved as a result of finding a safe and accepting place for their child. Children have increased in independence and have gained new skills. Our adult members have formed new friendships and greatly appreciate the peer support. Having somewhere to go as a family, where they are accepted and their child can be themselves, has prevented some families from reaching a crisis point.

Take a look at our infographic that shows the impact Our Space has both on our members and their families and to the wider community.

What our members say...

We feel relieved to be able to go somewhere where our son’s special needs is not a problem’.

My son can do his own thing and not worry about what others will say or judge him.

‘It’s great because I can let my son with autism roam free and don’t have to worry that he will escape – nowhere else I can do that, it gives him freedom’.

It is the one place where we can truly relax.

Please consider making a donation. Your donation could help to fund a specialist provider such as the ‘The Animal Man’ to attend our sessions.

As a charity we receive no government funding and we rely on the kind support of our community to keep our charity open for the hundreds of families that visit us each year. Without this support, many parents have told us that they would struggle to find a safe, secure and understanding place for their child to play.
