NEWS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE USE

Our Space has a Home

A charity set up to provide social and recreational activities for children and adults with disabilities and their families now have premises.

Our Space (Staffs) Ltd will be based at the former home of the North Staffs Special Adventure Playground on Stanier Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme. The organisation will be taking on the premises, subject to agreeing detailed lease terms, alongside Staffordshire-based charity, Approach, who provide services for older people with dementia or mental health needs along with adults who are socially disadvantaged.

Alan Marsden, Director of Our Space (Staffs) Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be moving into these premises, which are purpose built and cater for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities.”

“A lot of our members are former service users of the NSSAP, so the familiarity of the premises will be a great comfort to them.”

Together, Our Space and Approach hope to form an ‘umbrella service’, which enables all age groups to have opportunities to socialise without restrictions.

Christina Loftus, fellow Director of Our Space (Staffs) Ltd, added: “We have several fundraising events in the pipeline, including a sponsored Snowdon climb, with 41 supporters taking on the challenge in aid of Our Space.”
